Loving God Part 4 – With Strength

To become strong and healthy, we need a lot of energy. And to increase energy levels, one of the vital things we need is sleep. Sleep is important because it makes us function at our best during the day. If we sleep fewer hours than we are meant to, it is hard to go through each day regardless of how much endurance we have got. Like the requirement of physical energy to go through each day of our lives, we need to love God with our whole being. This is what it means to love God with strength. Therefore, Mark chapter 12, verse 30, could be translated like: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and “as completely as you can.” (Richard C. Blight, An Exegetical Summary of Mark 9-16) But how we can love the Lord our God as completely as we can? We are not born from ‘Jesus’ world but are born from the natural world! Yes, we are born from the natural world but we also can have another birth that comes from the Spirit, as long as we believe in...

Loving God Part 3 – With Mind

The mind is one of the most important elements in our bodies. It allows us to think and give reasons whether something is good or bad. As we grow older, our minds develop that we are able to think more clearly and wisely. This is the reason that we have to go to a school from primary-years to high school-years. After that, we can go to a university to pursue our studies on something that we are interested in, or we can have a career with. Going to schools is one of the main systems to know how to be successful in our lives. I graduated from primary to high school in New Zealand. After Long Bay College, I moved to New York to live with my father. While I was attending an English academy to get my visa sorted out, I pondered what is my next step. Since I wanted to work on a computer and received the gift of Christian writing, I had two choices—to go to a university to pursue my career with Microsoft Office programs or to go to a Bible College and work in a church and/or as a Christian wr...

Loving God Part 2 – With Heart

What is a heart? The heart is one of the important parts of the human body that makes people alive. It is “located in the centre of the chest” and is an “organ that pumps blood throughout the body” with the supplication of oxygen and nutrients. (Tanya Lewis, Human Heart: Anatomy, Function & Facts) The heart is also a symbol of love, which probably is the most powerful and positive emotion. Love is one of the most intense emotions that we experience as humans. It is a variety of different feelings, states and attitudes that range from interpersonal affection to pleasure. Love can be defined as an intense feeling of affection with no limits or conditions for a person. (javaTpoint) The full forms of ‘LOVE,’ that people created, are associated with life. Two of them are Life’s Only Valuable Emotion and Long-lasting Original Valuable Emotion. So, the common ground between the human heart and human love probably is the centredness of something: the human heart is the centre of human ...

Loving God Part 1 – With Soul

What is the soul of a person and how can you define it? Many of us think the soul is a combination of mind, will and emotions. Yes, this is right according to Quora, the network of sharing knowledge and gaining insights into the world. The soul is also mentioned as the combination of the mind, which does the activity of thinking, and the heart, which does the activity of feeling. Due to the Greek and the Oxford Dictionary primarily defining the word ‘soul’ as ‘spirit,’ I researched the word ‘soul’ a little bit further. Then, I found that human beings are souls but also has spirits. The spirit is an element of humanity that gives us an ability to have an intimate relationship with God. Whenever the word ‘spirit’ is used, it refers to the immaterial part of humanity that connects with God, who Himself is the Spirit… The word ‘soul’ can refer to the whole person whether alive on the earth or in the afterlife  ( What is the difference between the soul and the spirit of man?, GotQuestio...
